„Identity through dance“ or „Nhảy cho chúng ta“. This is the name of one of the cultural productions that we have been supporting for two years since July 2021. The film and dance project focuses on the topic of second-generation German-Vietnamese identities in Chemnitz. Duc and Nam (dance), Christian (director) Maria (production) and Valentin (camera) have captured various everyday experiences and perspectives in this documentary-artistic format. The two resulting films „BLEIBEN“ and „FÜR IMMER“ answer questions such as: What does identity actually mean? And can dance help us find it?
Background information: Nam, Duc and Christian have Vietnamese parents and grew up in the Chemnitz area. Their perspectives, experiences and views are different. Duc and Nam have also just founded a dance studio: Room – Hip Hop Spot. Here you can find more information about the dance studio.
On 26 January 2024, the two short films celebrated their premiere at Weltecho. They have been submitted to various film festivals and are in the film selection of Filmfest Dresden, among others.
