In order to make cultural events equally accessible to all people, the use of simple language is essential in the work of cultural workers. This raises questions and problems:

How do I deal with foreign words? How do I structure texts sensibly? How do I create clarity and comprehensibility in the spirit of inclusion? What is actually the difference between simple and easy language? Why are headings so important?

Together with the speaker for easy and simple language from the State Office for School Youth Welfare Saxony (LSJ Sachsen e.V.), Cornelia Schuricht, you will take a closer look at the meaning of simple language in the context of social developments in a workshop, highlight the differences between easy and simple language and approach the rules of using simple language. You will receive valuable tips that you can implement in your everyday work. Finally, you create your own texts in simple language and analyze them.

The workshop will take place on November 14, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the premises of the Stadtwirtschaft at Jakobstraße 46 in 09130 Chemnitz. Participation is free.

To successfully participate in this workshop, it is essential to bring your own laptop. Food is not provided, but there is the option to order and have lunch together on site.

If you are interested you can register until November 1, 2023 with Frauke Wetzel (frauke.wetzel@asa-ff.de).

The workshop is held in German language.
